Endodontics
Root canal treatment restores teeth that have been damaged and have become infected. If a tooth is damaged the pulp can be exposed to infection. If an infection occurs, it can spread to the gum and bone tissue around the tooth and cause a dangerous abscess. Left untreated, this can result in gum disease or the loss of the tooth.

Treatment involves removing the infected pulp from the tooth and protecting it to prevent reinfection. The pulp is removed through a small hole drilled in the tooth and the inside of the tooth is cleaned to remove any traces of infection. Then the hole is closed, and the tooth is ready to be restored with a filling or dental crown.
